Our goal is to help startups grow and succeed. The Food Futures Scale Up Catalyst™ incubator supports agrifood tech and innovation startups from across the value chain who are looking to create positive IMPACT on the agrifood system and to scale their ventures globally.

YAALA SPARKLING

Yaala Sparkling was conceived with a mission to create a range of exceptional, non-alcoholic, upmarket beverages infused with native botanicals. Mel Davey and Tara Croker, the founders, envisioned a unique blend that not only delivered on taste but also celebrated their indigenous heritage.

FIFTH HARVEST

Fifth Harvest, an innovative vertical farming enterprise, aims to revolutionise the agricultural landscape. With a demonstrated commitment to sustainability, Fifth Harvest employs cutting-edge techniques that require 98% less land and 95% less water compared to traditional farming methods.

Additionally, the company adopts novel approaches to minimise energy usage. By strategically cultivating crops near urban centres and within controlled environments, Fifth Harvest minimises the supply chain, reduces emissions associated with transportation and storage, and consistently delivers fresh, long-lasting products year-round.

FOULING DOCTORS (PPB)

The Fouling Doctors has developed an automated cleaning device for large onshore and offshore aquaculture farms. Dr Tim Hülsen holds a PhD in environmental biotechnology and during his time at the University of Queensland (UQ) developed a device to address the challenge of biofilm ‘fouling’ of submerged surfaces in round tanks, which is a common problem in aquaculture systems.

GOMICRO

Sivam Krish and Keanan Holder are the founders of GoMicro, a deep tech company developing fast, accurate and affordable artificial intelligence (AI) quality assessment solutions for the agrifood value chain. Their AI solutions determine the quality, freshness and shelf-life of a variety of agricultural products, saving users time, labour, money to increase the accuracy of quality assessments, establish trust and enable new business models in agrifood supply chains.

LORE Australia, founded by Jesse Lore, is weaving ancient wisdom and modern health consciousness into native foods. The company represents a fusion of tradition and innovation, promoting a holistic approach to healthy living while fostering a deep connection to the Australian land.
