FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When do applications open?

Applications are currently closed. We will be looking to open applications for the next Ideas2Business Program in second half of 2021.

How many teams will be accepted?

We generally accept between 12-14 participants into the Ideas2Business Program.

How do I apply?

Even when applications are not open you can book in some time to talk with the Food Futures Company team about your idea.

How will applications be evaluated/what are you looking for?

Applications will first be screened for eligibility in terms of whether you are working on agtech, food tech or value-added food ideas in any of our areas of impact. We will then evaluate ideas based on their uniqueness, potential market size/opportunity and level of impact. We also look at Founder/team experience and skills.

When does the Program Kickoff?

The next Ideas2Business Program will kick off in second half of 2021.

How long does the program go for?

The Ideas2Business Program is for 12weeks following kick off.

Where is the program located?

The program is delivered fully remotely. However, as we assess the situation with COVID-19 we will look to co-ordinate some face-to-face delivery with location TBC.

Do I need to have an idea for a agrifood business or technology?

Yes. You do not have to have started building it though. We accept ideas for agtech, value-added food products for consumers, new food processing technology and value chain innovations.

Is this the only program you will run?

No, we launch multiple programs throughout the year. Sign up to the mailing list to stay in the loop.

What are the key benefits of the program?

This program is designed to help you test the potential of your idea, and determine how far you want to take it. Each participant will have different goals such as industry impact, getting closer to consumers or building a big technology company- that's ok! We will help you get started, and give you the tools you need to make progress towards your goal. Things you will learn include: - How to operate using the best practices, processes and tools that successful entrepreneurs use - How to know if your idea is worth pursuing - What resources will be required to achieve your goals, and how to attract them

What else do I get?

You will receive expert business coaching and mentoring, weekly exercises and resources, access to a national community of progressive entrepreneurs and start ups.

How does the program work?

Each fortnight, we will have a group check in where we review the exercises from the previous week and introduce new content to help you to keep progressing forward. You will also be given your own business coach that will provide custom guidance and support for you and your team. At the end of the 12 week program, you will have a clear idea of whether you want to scale your venture, and what it will take. You will also have a new toolkit to help you maximise your impact.

Do you take equity?

No.

Do you own my IP?

No!

How many hours per week will I need to commit?

The 12 week program wil be intense, but like most things, the more you put in, the more you get out. Over the 12 week program we expect you to spend approx 5-10 hours per week on your venture. This includes program commitments.

How can I learn more or ask questions?

Email info@foodfutures.com.au or book in for a office hours session with one of the team .
